Italy: a reinforced connection between the diplomatic network and the Olympic & Paralympic Movement

"The lesson of sport is clear: you can only win by working as a team. Italy is a great team that grows, competes and engages with the world just as it does in sport," said Antonio Tajani, Italy's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, on the occasion of the 2^nd edition of the "Italian Sport Day in the World", at Villa Madama, Rome (ITA) on 09/09/2025.

The theme of the Day in 2025 is "Mountain and Sea Sports", in the run-up to the two major international sporting events that Italy will be hosting in 2026:
• the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games;
• the Taranto Mediterranean Games (in Puglia, from 21/08 to 03/09/2026).
