Italy: DAZN & Mediaset agree to broadcast six LALIGA EA Sports matches free of charge in 2025-26

The Italian private TV group Mediaset has acquired, under sublicense from DAZN, the free-to-air broadcasting rights in Italy to six LALIGA EA Sports matches for the 2025-26 season, announced the OTT sports platform on 11/09/2025.

The matches will also be shown on DAZN, which owns the full and exclusive broadcasting rights to the Spanish top flight in Italy until 2028-29. The streaming platform has been broadcasting LALIGA EA Sports since its arrival on the Italian market in August 2018.

Mediaset had already signed an agreement with DAZN to broadcast the Club World Cup 2025 in Italy. The privately-owned group had in fact acquired the free-to-air TV rights to one game per matchday of the competition from the platform. DAZN had initially obtained exclusive worldwide broadcasting rights to the Club World Cup for €1bn (€952m, as of 04/12/2024), according to the Financial Times.
