Women's Euro 2025: an economic impact of €220m for host country Switzerland (UEFA)

Women's Euro 2025 generated an economic impact of €220m for its host country, Switzerland, according to UEFA on 12/09/2025.

Among the key figures for the competition, which, as in 2022, was won by England:
• 29 of the 31 matches sold out, with an average attendance of over 20,000 spectators per match, "for the first time at a Women's Euro";
• a total of 657,291 tickets sold, 35% of which were bought by international spectators;
• 1.2 million people in the fanzones set up in the eight host cities;
• a total of 500 million viewers worldwide;
• a 9% increase in hotel bookings in Switzerland compared with July 2024.

"So many records could not have been set without the tournament's 2,500 volunteers, who represented 73 different nations and ranged in age from 18 to 82 years old. Of those who gave up their time to make the competition so special, 83 per cent were participating in a UEFA event for the first time, with a 55/45 split between women and men," explained the European Confederation.
