WNBA: record audience for the regular season on ESPN in the United States (+6% vs 2024)

The 2025 WNBA regular season, played from 16/05 to 11/09/2025, posted a 6% increase in viewership in the United States on the channels of the pay and free-TV group ESPN compared to the 2024 season, announced the group owned by the media and entertainment conglomerate The Walt Disney Company on 12/09/2025.

WNBA regular season games drew an average of 1.3 million viewers on the channels of the audiovisual group, according to data from the American institute Nielsen. "ESPN networks aired eight of the top 10 most-watched WNBA games during the 2025 season, highlighted by its most-watched WNBA game ever - 2.7 million viewers for Chicago Sky at Indiana Fever on 17/05 (broadcast on the free-TV channel ABC)," said the group.

An average of 1.2 million viewers watched the 2024 WNBA regular season on ESPN, an increase of 170% compared to the 2023 season. The rights to broadcast the 2025 WNBA season in the United States are also held by the American groups CBS, Amazon, ION Television (owned by Scripps Networks) and NBA TV.
