TV rights in Spain: federation says it was "ignored" and announces suspension of competitions

The board of directors of the RFEF announced, on 06/05/2015, that it was indefinitely suspending all Spanish domestic competitions as of 16/05/2015. The Spanish Federation is also protesting against the signing of the royal decree of 30/04/2015 from the Spanish government, which allows the collective sale of broadcasting rights in Spanish professional football from 2016-17 (La Liga is in charge of audiovisual rights to the Liga BBVA and the Liga Adelante, the RFEF is in charge of the rights to the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup).

The RFEF said it had been "ignored" by the Spanish government, which reportedly did not send it a draft of the decree in advance. "This attitude, together with the contents of the law, have been considered by the board of directors of the RFEF as a lack of respect and consideration towards the governing body of the whole of Spanish football (...)
