Arsenal FC: managing director Richard Garlick promoted to chief executive officer & board updated

Richard Garlick, managing director at Arsenal FC (Premier League), has been promoted to chief executive officer "with immediate effect," announced the London club on 19/09/2025.

Garlick, who had previously served as director of football at the Premier League and director of football administration at West Bromwich Albion FC (Sky Bet Championship), joined Arsenal as director of football operations in 2021 before being appointed managing director in summer 2024, following the departure of the club's former CEO Vinai Venkatesham.

"Along with this change comes evolution to our board of directors, led by co-chairs, Stan and Josh Kroenke. After five years with Arsenal, Tim Lewis (executive vice-chair) steps down from the board and has left the club. Kroenke Sports & Entertainment's (KSE) Kelly Blaha and Otto Maly will join our board as non-executive directors alongside long-time KSE advisor, Dave Steiner. They will bring the KSE family closer together and offer a wide range of expertise to strengthen Arsenal," explained the club.
