AC Milan/Inter Milan: partnership with Foster + Partners & Manica for the construction of the new stadium

FC Inter Milan and AC Milan (Serie A Enilive) are entering into a partnership with British architects Foster + Partners and American architects Manica for the construction of a new stadium, announced the two Milan clubs (Lombardy, ITA) on 23/09/2025.

This agreement remains subject to the approval by Milan City Council of the proposal for the acquisition of the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza (in the San Siro district, to the west of the city) and its surrounding areas submitted by the two clubs. A decision could be made on Thursday 25 or Monday 29/09.

The new 71,500-seat stadium would be built next to the existing Stadio Giuseppe Meazza (75,725 capacity), owned by the City of Milan and occupied by the two clubs under an occupancy agreement (due to run until 2030), for which they each pay a rent of around €8m per year. The San Siro is due to be partially demolished if the City Council accepts the proposal put forward by the two clubs, who are asking for €197m to purchase the stadium.
