International Paralympic Committee: Andrew Parsons re-elected president for 3rd & final term (2025-2029)

Brazilian Andrew Parsons was re-elected as head of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) for a third and final four-year term (2025-2029) at the body's general assembly, held in Seoul (KOR) on 26 and 27/09/2025.

Facing South Korea's Dong Hyun Bae, the man who has chaired the IPC since 2017 won 61% of the votes (109 out of 177) in the first round of voting. Former president of the Brazilian Paralympic Committee (2009-2017), Andrew Parsons joined the IPC board of directors in 2009 before serving as vice-president between 2013 and 2017, the year he was first elected to head the organisation. He was then re-elected for a second term on 12/12/2021.

"During his first eight years as president, Parsons secured a long-term partnership with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) through to 2032 and changed the IPC's strategic direction. Today, in addition to strengthening member organisations and delivering exceptional Paralympic Games, the IPC showcases the impact the Paralympic Movement's activities have on driving social inclusion," said the body.
