"The impact of this Women's World Cup was particularly evident in the stands, where 133 countries were represented and 63% of the spectators were women. Of those in the stands, 50% had never been to a women's rugby match before. In total, a record 444,465 tickets were sold during the competition, representing 92% of available tickets," said Sarah Massey, managing director of the Women's Rugby World Cup 2025, at the event's final press briefing on 29/09/2025.

"The aim now is to further diversify our audience and convert this summer's hype into financial and commercial sustainability. The next major dates are Australia, which will host the 2027 (men's) and 2029 (women's) World Cups, before an American phase that will include the Los Angeles 2028 Games and the men's (in 2031) and women's (in 2033) World Cups. While Australia will be a key stage from a community point of view, the three competitions in North America will be of fundamental importance for the development of the sport," said Sally Horrox, director of women's rugby at World Rugby.
