European Top 5: RC Strasbourg has the youngest team in 2025-26, 7 French clubs in the Top 20 (CIES)

RC Strasbourg Alsace (Ligue 1 McDonald's) is the club in European Top 5 with the lowest average age of players in its team line-up since the start of the 2025-26 season, according to the CIES Football Observatory's "Weekly Post", published on 01/10/2025.

With an average age of 21.45, the French club is ahead of Paris Saint-Germain (24.09) and Parma Calcio 1913 (Serie A Enilive, 24.26), who complete the podium. Ligue 1 clubs are the most represented in the Top 20, with seven representatives. Joining RCSA and PSG are Toulouse FC (5^th, 24.38), OGC Nice (8^th, 25.04), FC Nantes (9^th, 25.08), AJ Auxerre (12^th, 25.16) and FC Lorient (13^th, 25.22).

Conversely, SSC Napoli (Serie A Enilive) are the club with the highest average age of players so far this season (29.56), ahead of Rayo Vallecano de Madrid (LALIGA EA Sports, 29.5) and FC Inter Milan (Serie A Enilive, 29.35).

• Across 69 leagues around the world, Latvian side FK Metta have the lowest average age (20.96), ahead of RC Strasbourg Alsace and Latvian side BFC Daugavpils (22.39).
