WNBA: Versant group acquires domestic TV rights until 2036 after spin-off from NBC

Versant Media Group, a Comcast-founded entity created by the spinoff of NBCUniversal's cable television operations, has acquired the domestic broadcast rights to the WNBA for the 2026- cycle (11 seasons), announced the North American league on 30/09/2025.

"USA Network (pay-TV channel) will present at least 50 WNBA games annually, including coverage of the WNBA Playoffs and WNBA Finals games in select years beginning in 2026. The new agreement expands the game package that was to be distributed by USA Network under the WNBA's historic national media deals signed in 2024," said the league.

NBCUniversal, which owned USA Network at the time, acquired the WNBA's domestic media rights for the 2026-2036 cyle, while The Walt Disney Company and Amazon renewed them for the same period on 24/07/2024. The deal is worth an estimated $200m per season (€184m), for a total of $2.2bn (€2.02bn).
