Media: Rob Pilgrim (ex-YouTube) named head of sport EMEA at Meta

Rob Pilgrim has been appointed head of sport EMEA at Meta (Facebook, Instagram, Threads and WhatsApp), he announced via LinkedIn on 02/10/2025.

Pilgrim was previously head of sports and prime time for the video platform YouTube (Google) in the EMEA region (from May 2017 to September 2025).

Meta has already signed a number of sports partnerships in the EMEA. In particular, the American group partnered with the Rugby World Cup 2023 in France. The American group is also partnered with several bodies such as UEFA and Lega Serie A in the fight against piracy. In April 2025, Meta also became the official technology partner for UFC fans.
