Italy: Sky extends its broadcasting rights to the Serie B until 2018 for €14m per season

The Italian pay-TV group Sky Italia has acquired the exclusive audiovisual rights, in Italy, to the Serie B for the 2015-2018 cycle, announced the Lega Serie B, the professional league which organises the Italian second division, on 08/05/2015.

The Lega Serie B decided to launch a tender covering the entire exclusive broadcasting rights to the Serie B, with the championship currently being co-broadcast by Sky Italia (11 games per matchday, €5m per season) and the pay-TV group Mediaset Premium (2 games per matchday, €2m per season).

Sky Italia won the tender for the 2015-2018 domestic broadcast rights to the Serie B, ahead of Mediaset Premium, with an offer of €14m per season, according to several Italian media outlets on 08/05/2015.
