32^nd EFC general assembly: "UEFA will never organise a competition for 12 clubs only" (A. Ceferin)

"Europe sets the standard in world football. And precisely for that reason, we see attempts from outside to reshape the game. Change is part of football's story, we know this very well. But lasting value comes only from unity, from balance, and from reforms that strengthen everyone, not just a few. UEFA will never organise a competition for 12 clubs only. UEFA wants inclusion. UEFA wants that the dream stays alive. And together with EFC, we will make sure that our club football is inclusive," said Aleksander Ceferin, president of UEFA, on 08/10/2025 at the European Football Clubs (ex-ECA) 32^nd general assembly, being held in Rome (ITA) until 09/10/2025.

The Slovenian took the floor just after EFC chairman Nasser Al-Khelaïfi to talk about the success of the new format for European competitions launched in 2024-25 and the significant redistribution to clubs that this has enabled thanks to "record" revenues, before expressing his confidence in the future of European club football with a view to the next rights cycle.
