FIFA: $1.06bn invested in African football between 2016 & September 2025 through the Forward programme

FIFA has invested $1.06bn (€910m) in the development of African football between 2016 and September 2025 via its FIFA Forward programme, according to Gianni Infantino, president of the world governing body, at the Confederation of African Football's 47^th general assembly, held in Kinshasa (DR Congo) on 06/10/2025.

This investment within CAF, the regional associations and the 54 member associations should reach $1.28bn (€1.1bn) in 2026, at the end of the 2023-2026 cycle of the FIFA programme, "including $1.08bn (€930m) for the member associations alone". FIFA Forward, which was launched in the wake of Gianni Infantino's election as FIFA president, is designed in particular
"to support the world football governing body's 211 MAs and the confederations by funding infrastructure projects and competitions as well as operational costs."
