"We need to grow and continue growing. I remember four years ago when we came as a board we said we were 247 clubs, and we said, we want to have 1000 clubs. Today, we have 820 clubs, and we will soon have 1000," said Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, chairman of European Football Clubs (formerly ECA), on 09/10 at the body's 32nd general assembly held in Rome (ITA) since 07/10/2025.

More than 900 people were present at the Cavalieri Waldorf Astoria in Rome to attend the final morning of the EFC general assembly, including several hundred European clubs to whom the Qatari chairman addressed in particular.

"Today, we couldn't be more proud of the services that we provide to you, our members, commercial, legal, medical. And we are pushing for more, and doing more. We are trying to push ourselves. I remember my personal experience 15 years ago, when we bought Paris Saint-Germain, (Ligue 1 McDonald's), I did not know where to get my advice.
