32nd EFC general assembly: "We're equipped to meet all challenges of world football" (G. Infantino, FIFA)

"There are, going forward, a lot of challenges, and we are all equipped to deal with all these challenges. We have a memorandum of understanding (with EFC), but more important than that, we have a deep, deep bond, which brings us together, and we understand the need to work together for the benefit of players, of clubs, of leagues, of associations, of confederations and of FIFA and world football, ultimately," declared Gianni Infantino (SUI/ITA), president of FIFA, on 09/10 at the 32nd European Football Clubs (formerly the ECA) general assembly held in Rome (ITA) from 07/10/2025.

Gianni Infantino addressed the European clubs (some 800 represented at the EFC general assembly) in general, and Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, president of Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 McDonald's) and EFC, in particular. FIFA and EFC have signed a memorandum of understanding running until 2030, under which compensation for clubs releasing players for the 2026 and 2030 World Cups will amount to $355m (€330m) for each edition, compared with $209m (€194m) for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.
