esports/DFL: WOW (streaming, Sky Deutschland) extends as Virtual Bundesliga title sponsor (2025-2027)

WOW, Sky Deutschland's streaming service, has extended as the title sponsor of the WOW Virtual Bundesliga, the Deutsche Fußball Liga's official eFootball league, for a further two seasons (2025-2027), announced the governing body on 08/10/2025.

"The extension of the partnership underscores WOW's confidence in the development and potential of the Virtual Bundesliga. After a year and a half of successful cooperation, this is a clear signal to the community, partners and the market: the VBL is a strong, sustainable platform in eFootball," said the DFL, which in 2012 became the first professional football league to set up an official esports competition.

As part of this extended agreement, the two partners will "continue to offer joint actions" including the organisation of competitions during the broadcast of the WOW Virtual Bundesliga on Twitch, activations at physical events and formats "highlighting the link between eFootball and real football."
