France: the Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux will be connected with Wi-Fi HD from 23/05/2015

The Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux (42,000 seats) will be connected to Wi-Fi HD from its inaugural match (Girondins de Bordeaux - Montpellier HSC, Matchday 38, the last matchday of Ligue 1 on 23/05/2015), announced Vinci Stadium, a subsidiary of Vinci Concessions, which specialises in operating sports stadiums, on 11/05/2015.

The Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux will be the first French sports arena connected to Wi-Fi HD. The service will be provided jointly by Obiane (Orange Business Services) and the American company Cisco. SBA (Stade Bordeaux Atlantique), the stadium operator which is a subsidiary of the construction companies Vinci and Fayat, will launch a mobile application dedicated to the stadium in November 2015. This application will offer various services to improve the spectator experience.

SBA has mentioned the possibility of offering live content, replays, statistics, online betting, game connect, food and location services and more. The wireless service can connect up to 15,000 users simultaneously, said Dominique Fondacci, the president of SBA, to News Tank Football, on…
