"In 2024-25, we recorded a 40% increase in attendance in the Arkema Première Ligue (an average of 1,730 spectators per match). This season, we're aiming for a 50% increase, which means we'll have more than doubled attendance in three years. We regularly try to compare ourselves with our European rivals. With the increase we saw last season, we're on a par with Spain, and if we increase by another 50%, we should be on a par with Germany. Then we'll be thinking about competing with England," said Paul-Hervé Douillard, director of the Ligue Féminine de Football Professionnel, to News Tank Football on 14/10/2025.

"The transition from 12 to 14 clubs in the top flight won't be implemented for the 2026-27 season, as we postponed the decision last season. We were uncertain about the financial concerns facing French football and the arrival of investors, without knowing when this would materialise. Our main challenge is to strengthen the competitive balance of the division. We wanted to start with 12 well-structured teams in Arkema Première Ligue, rather than increasing the number of teams…
