Ligue 1: Supersport (MultiChoice) broadcaster in English-speaking sub-Saharan Africa from 2025-26

The pay-TV group Supersport has acquired the English-language broadcasting rights to the Ligue 1 McDonald's for sub-Saharan Africa from LFP Media, from the 2025-26 season, announced the Ligue de Football Professionnel on 17/10/2025.

Supersport belongs to the South African operator MultiChoice, whose acquisition has just been completed by the Canal+ group. The French group also holds the French-language broadcasting rights for the French top flight in the same territory.

"More than 200 players from sub-Saharan Africa currently play in the Ligue 1 McDonald's and Ligue 2 BKT, illustrating the importance of the continent as a major talent pool for French football. In addition, half of the Ligue 1's Facebook followers come from Africa, demonstrating the continent's enthusiasm for the league. With this partnership, Ligue 1 McDonald's confirms its strong link with the African public and consolidates its international presence," said the LFP.
