Formula 1: Apple acquires exclusive US media rights for 2026-2030 ($700m)

Apple has acquired the exclusive rights to broadcast the Formula 1 World Championship in its entirety in the United States for the 2026-2030 cycle (five seasons), announced the American group and Formula One Group on 17/10/2025.

"Apple TV (streaming) will deliver comprehensive coverage of Formula 1, with all practice, qualifying, Sprint sessions, and Grands Prix available to Apple TV subscribers. Select races and all practice sessions will also be available for free in the Apple TV app throughout the course of the season," said the two parties. The F1 TV Premium streaming service, owned by Formula One Group and dedicated to broadcasting its races, will remain accessible in the United States.

The deal is worth an estimated $140m a year (€120m), for a total of $700m (€600m), according to US financial news outlet CNBC. The annual amount of the rights would thus have risen sharply since The Walt Disney Company, parent company of ESPN, currently pays between $75m and $90m a year (€64m and €77m) to broadcast Formula 1 in the United States, according to the American magazine Forbes.
