"Tatxo Benet, until now president and CEO of Mediapro, is stepping down from his position following an agreement with Southwind, the group's majority shareholder (85%)," announced the Spanish audiovisual group on 21/10/2025.

Co-founder of Mediapro with Jaume Roures and Gerard Romy in 1994, Tatxo was the last of the three remaining members of the group. He was confirmed as president and CEO of Mediapro after Jaume Roures stepped down in October 2023.

"I take with me the experience of the last 30 years, as well as the immense talent and humanity of the more than 55,000 professionals who have worked within the group. I am convinced that this new chapter, in which none of the three original founders are involved, will be just as successful as the last three decades, which have seen the Mediapro group, a company born and developed in Catalonia, become a global benchmark," said Tatxo Benet following his departure.

Benet will be replaced as president by Sergio Oslé, former CEO of Spanish telecommunications operator Telefonica, according to El Confidencial.
