Belgium: billionaire Vincent Tan (Malaysian) becomes the majority shareholder of KV Kortrijk

The Malaysian billionaire Vincent Tan has become the main shareholder of the Belgian club KV Kortrijk (Jupiler Pro League) after buying the shares of the De Gryse family, announced the club on 12/05/2015. The amount of the purchase is estimated at €5m. Ken Choo, the CEO of Cardiff City FC (Sky Bet Championship), the club owned by Vincent Tan, will be the director of KV Kortrijk.

"There will be no significant changes to the way the club is run, Mr. Tan is very satisfied with the way the club is run today. Mr. Tan sees clear growth potential for the club and will soon come to Kortrijk to give more details on his vision," said the Belgian club on 12/05/2015. Vincent Tan has been the owner of Cardiff City FC (he holds 87.5% of the club) since May 2010 and FK Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina) since December 2013, and is among the 19 minority shareholders of Los Angeles FC (MLS).

KV Kortrijk is in 6^th place in the Jupiler Pro League Champions League play-off group after seven matchdays, 10 points behind KAA Gent, the current leader.
