European Cups post-2027: "We want to exceed €5bn in revenue per season" (G-L. Epstein, UEFA)

"Today, over the three competitions (Champions League, Europa League and Conference League), we generate €4.4bn in revenue per season, and we want to go well beyond €5bn. During the last tender, growth was 25%, but we had launched the new format. This time, we're aiming for another 20-25% increase," said Guy-Laurent Epstein, marketing director at UEFA, to the French sports daily L'Équipe on 21/10/2025.

Epstein, who is also co-managing director of the UC3 joint venture (with Charlie Marshall, CEO of the EFC), discussed the call for tenders launched on 13/10/2025 in collaboration with Relevent Football Partners (a subsidiary of Relevent Sports Group) for the broadcasting rights to UEFA club competitions (Champions League, Europa League, Conference League, UEFA Super Cup, Youth League & Futsal Champions League) in the European Top 5 (France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom) from the 2027-28 season.
