Copa del Rey: RTVE & Telefonica domestic broadcasters (excluding the final) for the 2025-2027 cycle

The Spanish public broadcasting group RTVE and the telecommunications operator Telefonica have renewed their domestic broadcasting rights to the Copa del Rey for the 2025-2027 cycle (two seasons), announced LALIGA on 22/10/2025.

The public broadcasting group has thus obtained Lot 1 (option A), i.e. exclusive live broadcasting of 116 matches from the competition each season (excluding the preliminary and final phases, with compulsory free-to-air broadcasting of the semi-finals). The value of the rights has risen by 15%, according to the Spanish league.

Telefonica has acquired, under licence from RTVE and for its Movistar Plus+ pay-TV package, the broadcasting rights to at least 55 matches per season for the next two seasons. Movistar will also co-broadcast the semi-finals with the public broadcaster.

LALIGA, which has taken over the marketing of the rights to the competition from the RFEF (with the exception of the final, which is still marketed by the Federation), launched the call for tenders for the domestic broadcasting of the Copa del Rey for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 seasons on…
