The two opening games of the 2025-26 NBA regular season drew an average of 5.6 million viewers, with a peak of 7.1 million on the NBC Sports group's channels and the Peacock OTT platform (NBCUniversal) in the United States on Tuesday 21/10/2025, according to data from Nielsen and Adobe Analytics (digital) communicated by the American group.

• Oklahoma City Thunder - Houston Rockets (125-124 after overtime), the first game of the season, drew an average of 5.9 million viewers on NBC and Peacock (tip-off at 19:30 ET).

• The second game, Los Angeles Lakers - Golden State Warriors (109-119), was watched by 5.1 million viewers on the American group's channels (tip-off at 22:00 ET).

This is the best audience for an NBA regular season opener since 2010, according to the American group, which is broadcasting games from the North American league for the first time since the 2002 NBA Finals. The 2010-11 season opener, which included LeBron James' Miami Heat game (USA), drew 5.7 million viewers in the United States.
