Puma: Maria Valdes appointed chief brand officer & brand marketing division reorganised

Maria Valdes has been appointed chief brand officer at Puma with immediate effect from 27/10/2025.

This announcement comes as the German sports equipment manufacturer is reorganising its brand marketing division, with the creation of a structure including product creation, innovation, marketing and brand marketing "to enable stronger and more consistent storytelling for its products."

Maria Valdes is taking over as head of the new division after 15 years with Puma. After holding a number of product manager positions from November 2010, she was appointed chief product officer in January 2023.

Brand marketing was previously the responsibility of Arthur Hoeld, CEO of Puma, while marketing was the responsibility of Matthias Bäumer, chief commercial officer. With the new organisation, sports marketing will be separated from brand marketing and placed under the supervision of the CEO.
