RC Lens: "Match of Remembrance" in tribute to deceased supporters & players

RC Lens (Ligue 1 McDonald's) have introduced the "Match of Remembrance" from the 2025-26 season, a "new highlight of its season, designed to pay tribute to all its supporters, former players and sympathisers who have passed away," announced the French club on 28/10/2025.

"Inspired by the tradition of British clubs", the first edition of this event will take place during the reception of RC Strasbourg Alsace (Matchday 13 of the 2025-26 Ligue 1 season), on Saturday 22/11 at 17:00 CET. "A minute's silence will be observed before kick-off, and the names of those who have passed away will appear on the big screens and LED panels at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis. As part of the initiative, the Sang et Or (blood & gold, club colours) will wear black armbands during the match and a 'Match of Remembrance' badge will be printed on their shirts."
