AS Saint-Étienne: over €1m from owner Larry Tanenbaum's institute donated to the University Hospital

The Tanenbaum Institute for Science in Sport (TISS), an organisation supported by the Larry & Judy Tanenbaum Family Foundation founded by Canadian Larry Tanenbaum, owner of AS Saint-Étienne (Ligue 2 BKT) and his wife, has made a donation of over €1m to the University Hospital of Saint-Étienne (Loire, FRA), announced the club on 28/10/2025.

This contribution will cover 50% of the "funding of an innovative research programme at the crossroads of sport, health and medical sciences, a multi-year project led by professors Pierre Croisille (head of the radiology department) and Pascal Edouard (head of the sports medicine unit) at the University," added AS Saint-Étienne, which was bought by the family-owned Kilmer Sports Ventures group in June 2024.

The aim of the research programme is to "revolutionise the management of sports medicine injuries through predictive and precision medicine, by combining cutting-edge imaging technologies and applied research.
