Women's tennis: Valerie Camillo (ex-NBA, NHL & MLB) appointed WTA chair from 17/11/2025

Valerie Camillo has been appointed chair of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) on 28/10/2025. The American will take up her position on 17/11/2025. She will also serve as chair of WTA Ventures, the commercial arm of the world governing body of women's tennis.

Camillo will work with the WTA Board "to guide and implement the organisation's long-term vision and strategy at a time of tremendous opportunity for players, fans, tournaments, and partners worldwide. Her appointment comes at a moment of accelerated growth and opportunity," said the WTA.

Valerie Camillo has held a variety of roles in North American sports leagues:
• in the NBA as senior vice president, team marketing and business operations (2010-2014),
• for the Washington Nationals (MLB) as chief revenue and marketing officer (2014-2019),
• for the Philadelphia Flyers (NHL) as president and CEO (2019-2023).
