UEFA: 34 measures implemented to reduce the carbon impact of Women's Euro 2025 & 8,402 tCO2e emitted

34 measures designed to reduce the environmental impact of UEFA Women's Euro 2025 were introduced, among 97 actions implemented to promote sustainability, according to UEFA in its ESG report on the competition, published on 04/11/2025.

The event itself generated 8,402 tCO2e, 13.3% less than the initial forecast impact (9,688 tCO2e), while fan travel to attend the event generated more than three times as much (27,708 tCO2e). Once on site, however, all eight host cities offered sustainable mobility solutions: 66% of fans used public transport to get to the stadium, while 20% walked or cycled there, bringing
the percentage of fans who went to the matches without using private vehicles to 86%.

As for the stadiums, all of the venues used were powered "at least in part" by renewable energy sources, including five (62.5%) entirely. All eight stadiums also had a sustainability officer.
