Sky Bet Championship: Knighthead Capital Management becomes a majority shareholder of Birmingham City FC

Shelby Companies Limited, the UK subsidiary of US private equity firm Knighthead Capital Management LLC, which had held a 45.98% stake in Birmingham City FC (Sky Bet Championship) since July 2023, has become the club's majority shareholder through the acquisition of a further 51% from Zo Future Group, announced the club on 07/11/2025.

Shelby Companies Limited owns 96.64% of Birmingham City Limited, which holds 100% ownership of Birmingham City Football Club Limited (men's team) and Birmingham City Women Football Club Limited (Barclays Women's Super League 2). "Shelby Limited will continue to be solely responsible for all the operations of the club," declared the BCFC.
