esports: audience decline for the 2025 League of Legends Worlds held in China

A peak audience of 6.75 million cumulative viewers was recorded on streaming platforms broadcasting the final of the 2025 League of Legends World Championship (the ”Worlds,” organised by Riot Games) between South Korean teams T1 and KT Rolster (3-2), held at the Dong’an Lake Sports Park Multifunctional Gymnasium in Chengdu (China) on 09/11/2025, according to data published by Esports Charts on the same day. These figures do not include viewership in the Chinese market.

This peak audience represents a 1.7% decrease compared with the competition’s all-time record (6.86 million) set during the fifth game of the 2024 Worlds final in London (T1’s 3-2 victory over Bilibili Gaming), "making it the second most popular esports tournament of all time," said Esports Charts.

"The final gave the tournament’s overall viewership a major boost. The match drew 87% more viewers than the next most-watched series — the semifinal between reigning champions T1 and China’s Top Esports (peak audience of 3.6 million)," added the audience analysis platform.
