NHL: opening of an office in Zurich (Switzerland), the league's first outside North America

The National Hockey League opened an office in Zurich, Switzerland in August 2025 to "expand the league's footprint across Europe, focusing on international operations, strategy, and development, including media and sponsorship sales," announced the NHL on 10/11/2025.

"Opening an office in Zürich bolsters the League's commitment to evolving its international business and continues to fuel the excitement around its global calendar of events, including the upcoming 2025 NHL Global Series Sweden presented by Fastenal, NHL player participation at the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026, and the World Cup of Hockey 2028 (hosted in France)," explained the League.

This is the first office opened by the NHL outside of North America. The League has offices in New York (New York, USA), Montreal (Quebec, Canada) and Toronto (Ontario, Canada).
