LA28 Olympic Games: 8 women's finals on the first day & a Super Saturday (26 finals) on 29/07

The Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games organising committee presented the Olympic competition schedule on 12/11/2025. 51 sports will be staged at 47 venues in the Los Angeles region (California) and two in Oklahoma City (Oklahoma, for the softball and canoe-kayak slalom events).

The athletics events, scheduled from 15 to 24/07 (excluding marathons), will take place before the swimming events, scheduled from 22 to 30/07/2028, in the opposite order to that usually used for the Games.

The first medal event will be the women's triathlon - a first since Sydney 2000 -, held in Venice Beach (Los Angeles) on 15/07/2028, the day after the Opening Ceremony. The athletics finals in the women's 100m and men's 100m, the highlights of the competition, will take place on 15 and 16/07/2028 respectively. "LA28 will stay true to Olympic tradition, with the Athletics (Marathon) taking place on the final weekend of the Games (29 and 30/07/2028)," said the committee.
