BT Consumer: €5.9bn in turnover in 2015 (+6.6%), BT Sport has 5.2 million subscribers

BT Consumer, the division of the British telecommunications group BT that includes the channel BT Sport, generated £4.285bn (€5.91bn) in turnover for the 2015 fiscal year (from 01/04/2014 to 31/03/2015), announced the group on 07/05/2015. This is an increase of 6.6% compared to 2014 (£4.019 billion, €4.86bn at the time), and corresponds to 24% of the total turnover of BT in 2015 (£17.851bn, €24.6bn). BT TV, which is directly in charge of BT Sport, had a turnover increase of 16%, said the group.

The operating profit of BT Consumer came to a total of £813m (€1,122m) in 2015, up 32% compared to 2014 (£614m / €743m), despite a 2% increase in operating expenses due to the inclusion of the cost of the programmes of BT Sport (launched on 01/08/2013, five months after the beginning of the 2014 fiscal year) for the first time over a full financial year. BT Consumer makes up 23.4% of the operating profit of BT (£3.48bn/€4.8bn). BT recorded a net profit of £2.135bn pounds (€2.95bn) in 31/03/2015, an increase of 5.8% year on year (£2.018 billion / €2.44bn).
