Jörg Albrecht, president of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim (Bundesliga), "is resigning from his position due to health reasons with immediate effect," announced the club on 13/11/2025.

In accordance with TSG 1899 Hoffenheim statutes, his duties "will be temporarily assumed by the club's current vice-chairman Christoph Henssler, and the current third chairman Frank Engelhardt." A new board is expected to be elected at an extraordinary meeting "in a few weeks time."

"I regret that I have to relinquish the position that I have carried out with so much passion and dedication. In recent weeks, however, I have reached my physical limits, not least because of the immense strain. Therefore, this is a logical and also necessary step, although I find it extremely difficult," said Jörg Albrecht, who was elected chairman in September 2024 and "was diagnosed with incurable ALS in the autumn of 2024."
