United Kingdom: an economic impact of €11.6bn generated by the Premier League & its clubs in 2023-24 (EY)

The Premier League and its clubs generated £9.8bn (€11.6bn at 30/06/2024) in gross value added (GVA) to the UK economy during the 2023-24 season, according to a study by the UK branch of audit and consultancy firm EY, relayed by the League on 12/11/2025. This record figure represented "a 21% rise since the 2021-22 season (the previous period studied by EY) and more than 14 times higher than in 1998-99."

Of this total, tax revenues generated amount to £4.4bn (€5.2bn), including £2.1bn (€2.5bn) in direct contributions from players competing in the English Championship in 2023-24. These figures are also up on the 2021-22 season (£4.2bn in tax receipts, including £1.7bn from players).
