Borussia Dortmund: Hans-Joachim Watzke, CEO of the club since 2005, elected president

Hans-Joachim Watzke, CEO of Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga) since 2005, was elected president of the club (with around 59% of votes in favour) at its annual general meeting on 23/11/2025.

Watzke had announced on 08/01/2024 that he would not be seeking an extension to his term as CEO of Borussia Dortmund before the club announced on 13/08/2025 that he would be standing for election as president.

The only candidate in the election, Watzke replaces Reinhold Lunow. The latter was previously president of BV. Borussia 09 e.V. Dortmund (the club's association which co-exists with the commercial company Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA) since his election on 21/11/2022, but who decided not to stand for re-election.

Daniel Lörcher was elected vice president, while Silke Seidel will take up the post of BVB treasurer.
