Super League: A22 Sports to seek compensation for damages caused by UEFA

A22 Sports Management "initiated the compulsory MASC (Medios Adecuados de Solución de Controversias, appropriate means of dispute resolution) procedures, as per Spanish Law, prior to the commencement of a legal process against UEFA seeking compensation for damages suffered due to UEFA's abuse of its dominant position as the monopoly operator of cross-border European club football competitions," announced the Madrid-based company responsible for promoting the European Super League project on 24/11/2025.

A22 says it is doing so after seven months of fruitless negotiations with the European Confederation, which it criticises for not recognising the Unify League, its modified European Super League project presented in December 2024. The format envisaged for this new competition includes the participation of 96 clubs from UEFA's 55 associations divided into three 32-team divisions, with matches broadcast free of charge on a streaming platform generating revenue through advertising and premium subscriptions.
