Belgium: DAZN & Pro League terminate contract due to lack of agreements with operators

DAZN has terminated its contract with the Pro League for the domestic broadcasting of the Belgian professional football league's competitions, announced the OTT platform on 25/11/2025.

The streaming service had extended its exclusive domestic TV rights to the Pro League's competitions (Jupiler Pro League, Challenger Pro League, Croky Cup, Super Cup, Lotto Super League) for the 2025-2030 cycle, on 19/12/2024. With the radio rights obtained by the VRT (Dutch-language) and RTBF (French-language) groups, the Belgian league was thus guaranteed "at least" €84.2m in revenue per season.

According to the agreement between the Pro League and DAZN, the platform was subsequently to conclude distribution agreements with at least two "traditional" operators. However, no agreement has been reached since the start of the 2025-26 season, so matches are only available via the OTT platform.
