RC Lens: introduction of popular shareholding discussed at the first Supporters' Advisory Board meeting

The possibility of introducing a form of popular shareholding (fan ownership) within RC Lens (Ligue 1 McDonald's) was discussed at the first meeting of the new Supporters' Advisory Board held on 04/11, announced the club on 25/11/2025.

"The Board considered the true interest of supporters in such a project. While there is enthusiasm for the idea, the club would first and foremost like to ensure that there is a lasting collective commitment, and not just a one-off infatuation. On the face of it, the subject seems to appeal to a large number of supporters. However, this impression remains to be confirmed," state the minutes of this first meeting.

"A relevant comparison was made with the consultation carried out around the commemorative plaques 'In the names of Bollaert' during the 2022-23 season: despite the strong interest expressed in the polls, the concrete results were more measured. At that time, RC Lens sold around 5,000 plaques, compared with more than 100,000 shirts over the same period.
