Belgium/TV rights: "DAZN is showing a total lack of respect for our football" (Pro League)

"Over the last few months, the Pro League has always been constructive in its discussions with DAZN. The Pro League regrets that DAZN is now unilaterally terminating the collaboration. DAZN is showing a total lack of respect for our football, the clubs and the fans. Together with the clubs, we as the Pro League cannot accept such an attack on our football. DAZN remains responsible for the production and broadcasting of Belgian football to the fans," said the Belgian professional football league on 25/11/2025.

The Pro League reacted to DAZN's announcement on the same day that it was terminating its contract with the OTT platform to broadcast its competitions. The streaming service, which initially held the full and exclusive domestic TV rights to the Pro League competitions (Jupiler Pro League, Challenger Pro League, Croky Cup, Supercup, Lotto Super League) for the 2025-2030 cycle, said it was terminating the contract after failing to reach agreement with at least two operators for the distribution of the competitions (a necessary condition for compliance with the contract).
