CIES: a positive transfer balance of €286m for Eintracht Frankfurt since 2021, better than any other club

Eintracht Frankfurt (Bundesliga) have had a positive transfer balance of €286m for transfers involving players not from its youth academy who have been recruited and permanently transferred since 2021, according to CIES Football Observatory's "Weekly Post" published on 26/11/2025. No other club performed better over the period.

The German club spent €78m acquiring players over the period, with €364m in revenue generated from the resale of those same players. Frankfurt is ahead of Brighton & Hove Albion FC (Premier League, positive balance of €221m) and VfB Stuttgart (Bundesliga, positive balance of €178m). 11 other clubs posted a positive balance in excess of €100m.

Atalanta BC (Serie A Enilive, 4th, up €150m), RC Lens (Ligue 1 McDonald's, 6th, up €134m) and Girona FC (LALIGA EA Sports, 23rd, up €79m) are the top representatives of their respective leagues in the rankings.

Nottingham Forest FC (Premier League), which has a positive balance of €6m since 2021, is the club that has spent the most to recruit players (€220m). Brighton & Hove Albion is the beneficiary club that has…
