"At a national level, APPS reiterates the urgent need to change the current legal framework. Despite the consensus of the various stakeholders, the lack of visibility regarding the National Assembly's examination of the draft law on professional sport, adopted by the Senate and containing a section devoted to the fight against sports content piracy, can only cause concern," declared the Association for the Protection of Sports Programmes on 26/11/2025.

"APPS welcomes the stance taken by Marina Ferrari, Minister for Sport, who has reaffirmed her desire to see this text adopted as early as the first quarter of 2026. To rise to the industrial challenge and safeguard digital public order, it is absolutely essential for France to modernise and improve its system for blocking access to illegal services in real time, in line with expected European developments," adds the Association.
