Spain/RFEF: projected budget of €403.5m approved for 2026 (+8.4% vs 2025)

The executive committee of the Real Federacion Espanola de Futbol, which met in Madrid (ESP) on 02/12/2025, approved a projected budget of €403.5m for the 2026 financial year (01/01 to 31/12), up 8.4% on 2025 (€372.3m), announced the RFEF the same day.

This budget increase is primarily attributable to the Spanish men's team's participation in the 2026 World Cup, which is expected to generate over €22m in revenue for the RFEF. As a result, the Federation is planning an "investment budget" of €39m.

"This budget further strengthens the commitment to non-professional football, with increased resources allocated to grassroots football and training thanks to growth in revenue. It also improves funding for national teams and addresses various investment programmes in facilities and technology that should help modernise the management of federal activities," said the RFEF.

The two main sources of expected revenue are broadcasting rights, at €111m (27.5% of projected income) and sponsorship and merchandising revenue, at €89.1m (22%). The Federation also expects its national teams…
