Germany: "The creation of the Women's League is a prerequisite for the commercial company" (DFB)

"The Deutscher Fussball Bund was astonished to learn of the statements made by the new Women's League. The foundation of an association by the 14 clubs is a prerequisite for the implementation of the joint-venture project (within a commercial company). The DFB's participation in this association was never envisaged. The DFB remains committed to working with the clubs to promote the professionalisation of women's football in Germany," said the DFB on 04/12/2025.

The German Football Association was reacting after the 14 Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga clubs announced on the same day that they would be founding the Frauen-Bundesliga FBL e.V. (association) on 10/12/2025, and to do so "without the involvement of the DFB, contrary to the original plans."
