Belgium: "Forthcoming acquisition" of KAS Eupen (2^nd division) by QSI, owner of Paris Saint-Germain

Qatar Sports Investments (QSI), the sports investment arm of the Emirate of Qatar, announced its "forthcoming acquisition" of KAS Eupen (Challenger Pro League) from Aspire Zone Foundation, a Qatari state-owned entity aimed at developing sporting talent and owner of the club since 2012, on 09/12/2025.

Already the owner of Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 McDonald's) since June 2011 and a minority shareholder (21.6%) in Sporting Braga (Liga Portugal Betclic) since October 2022, QSI intends to "strengthen its position as a global football and business operator".

The Qatari group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding "confirming the forthcoming full acquisition - subject to standard regulatory approvals - and the immediate takeover of the sporting operations of KAS Eupen. Under the terms of the MoU, QSI will ultimately take full operational control of the club, including all associated sporting, commercial, and operational assets, in short order".
