"I am among those who try to ensure that sport remains as independent as possible from politics, and that cooperation between governing bodies, federations and the political sphere does not amount to intrusion by one into the other. This ”Peace Prize” (created on 05/11 and awarded to Donald Trump on 05/12/2025) falls within FIFA’s remit. The international federation decided to award it, and we were not involved in that decision. I leave FIFA’s officials to take responsibility for their choice,” said Philippe Diallo, president of the FFF, at a press conference following the federal assembly held on 13/12/2025.
